CFLs use Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) technology which provides advanced capabilities that make continuity testers obsolete. Specifically, a CFL can make all tests from one end of a harness, provide the exact location of a fault and identify intermittent faults.
Psiber designs, builds and delivers custom TDR Test System from Depo Level Testers for testing complex wiring harnesses on specific Army Aircrafts to Hand-held devices for testing underground cabling. Psiber leverages 30 years of TDR design and expertise to develop new testers needed for specific troubleshooting needs. Psiber holds multiple patents on our unique approach to TDR testing. Call us today to have a custom tool made for you.
Custom Cable Fault Locators are for contractors, installers, troubleshooting technicians or anyone involved in the installation or maintenance of metallic cables or cable harnesses in buildings, cars or aircrafts with the capability to quickly find faults and intermittent faults in cables up to a distance of 2500 feet with 1 foot resolution or 1.2” resolution up to 300 feet. Using Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) technology, Cable Fault Locators diagnoses cable faults with no launch or dead zone and an accuracy to ±2%.This custom cable can test the near end connector for faults.. Voltage on the wires up to 250v is continuously measured by the built in, true RMS voltmeter and is displayed to warn of a potentially unsafe condition. The Cable Fault Locators also inject a tracing tone onto the conductors to trace cables with a standard tone probe.
Wire Harness in aircraft, cars, building or etc. are very complex. Finding the one wire or pin that is open , short or intermittent in a harness of is extremely time consuming and expensive. Using a Custom Cable Fault Locator can quickly find which pin and the location of the fault in seconds.
Psiber will design a custom Cable Fault Locator using our patented hardware from our most popular CableTool Hand held Tester. Psiber will modify this patented hardware, write custom software and design a mechanical housing to test the customers specific cable harness setup. Call us today and let us know your cable troubleshooting issues.
Features
The CableTool is for Cable Contractors, CATV & Low Voltage Installers to identify and find the distance to an Open or Short in Seconds.
CFL Features
Time Saving Features
CFL Features:
Pinpoint Cable Damage with Incredible 1.2” / 3 cm Resolution (to 250 feet or 100 meters)
Ideal for Precisely Locating Faults in Wire Harnesses & Cable Assemblies
No Dead Zone Finds Close-in Faults
Transmit Tone Signals for Tracing Cable Runs and Identify Cable Connections
Measure Voltage on Powered Circuits
Extensive Built-in Library of Cable Types
Compatible with All Common Cables
Displays Length in Feet or Meters
Ergonomic design for single hand operation
Time Saving
MEASURE CABLE LENGTH ON A SPOOL OR INSTALLED
The CableTool makes it easy for installers to know the amount of cable remaining on a spool or in a box before pulling a run. When multiple runs are being installed in the same area, the first run can be measured to accurately determine the total amount of cable required to complete the job. Checking cable inventory prior to starting a job eliminates unplanned trips to buy more cable.
EASY TO USE
The CableTool is simple to operate. After turning the unit on, a cable can be measured or toned with a single push of a button. The full graphics display provides all the cable and measurement information together on one screen. The built-in library of over sixty cable types makes finding the correct cable information easy. The standard banana jack connectors means that different test leads and adapters are available from many vendors.
AFFORDABLE
Telephone and CATV companies have used TDRs to find cable problems for over thirty years. Until recently, this type of tool cost thousands of dollars. Advances in technology have allowed the CableTool to provide the capabilities of previous TDRs at a fraction of the price.
